Iceland 2024
The Father & Son Adventure of a Lifetime

In June of 2024, my son Elliot and I traveled to Iceland for an epic father and son adventure. Elliot picked Iceland and did most of the planning. I paid the bill. For 13 of our 16 days we traveled in a four wheel drive VW camper van. It was an awesome way to see this mind-blowing little country that sits just below the arctic circle. We were in Reykjavik for their Independence Day holiday and parade, hiked in the highlands which are literally like a different planet with a stark geothermal landscape, boated in Glacier Bay and walked on a black sand beach scattered with chunks of glacial ice, saw enormous waterfalls with double rainbows, and so much more. Two years later, I still think often about this trip. I used to say that rafting the Grand Canyon was the pinnacle of my travels, but Iceland definitely equalled that in a very different way.
