The Joy of Water
At some point I realized that I had begun taking a lot of photos of people around water. There is a universal human attraction to water, and it seems to liberate people and create profound memories that are cherished throughout one’s life. These interactions with water have the power to hold us in the moment, to let us experience being fully present and alive. That openness allows the formation of strong life long memories. For some of us, these are places we return to as our “happy places” or sanctuaries.
The images include oceans, rivers, and lakes; toddlers to the elderly; solo exploration to group play; and lots of family interactions. It is nearly impossible to not see and feel the joy in many of the images. As in other portfolios of my work you will see a lot of different styles. When editing images, I like to play and experiment. I know this can drive some people crazy, but I am forever curious and I tend to shy away from conformity.
